Linda Green and Elizabeth Herron were honored to each receive the Narrow River Preservation Association’s highest award, the W.E.R. LaFarge Memorial Friend of the River Award, at their annual meeting in October 2008.
Kudos to Dr. Frank Golet! The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Classification of Wetlands and Deepwater Habitats of the United States, which he co-authored, became a National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Standard. This is a great recognition of the significant contributions Dr. Golet has made to wetland sciences over the years.
Linda Green was recognized for Outstanding Outreach at URI by the Provost's Office.
Linda Green received the 2007 Trustees Award from the Wood-Pawcatuck Watershed Association in recognition of her 20-year achievement of developing a small volunteer effort with WPWA in 1987, and growing it to a successful statewide volunteer monitoring program (URI Watershed Watch).
Elizabeth Herron was awarded the CELS Outreach Excellence Award for all she has done for water quality monitoring issues over the years.
Dr. Thomas Husband was awarded the regional United States Department of Agriculture Food and Agricultural Sciences Excellence in Teaching Award.
Dr. Mark Stolt was awarded the CELS Research Excellence Award for his outstanding research accomplishments.

The Cooperative Extension Water Quality Program's RI Home*A*Syst, a pollution prevention program focused on reducing water quality contamination in rural residences, has been selected as Partner of the Year by the Northern RI Conservation District. Alyson McCann and Holly Burdett were honored at NRICD's annual dinner.
Greg Bonynge and the URI Geospatial Extension Program received a 2006 Special Achievement in GIS Award at the 26th Annual ESRI International User Conference in San Diego.
Dr. Graham Forrester was honored with the Researcher Excellence Award by the URI College of the Environment and Life Sciences.
Dr. Frank Golet receives the Teaching Excellence Award from the URI College of the Environment and Life Sciences.
Patty Harrington was given the Staff Excellence Award by the URI College of the Environment and Life Sciences.
Dr. Mark Stolt was recognized by the University of Rhode Island for Outstanding Research.

Lisa Gould was awarded the annual Exceptional Achievement Award from the Nonprofit Resources of Southern New England. This statewide award recognizes superior performance that significantly exceeds job standards and is sustained and uniformly high, even in the face of significant challenges.
Dr. Scott McWilliams named URI College of Environment and Life Sciences Researcher of the Year
Dr. Frank Golet wins the National Wetlands Award in Science Research from the Environmental Law Institute, the Legacy Award from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for co-authoriship of the National Wetlands Classification, and the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Massachusetts Department of Natural Resources Conservation.

Dr. Jose Amador Receives URI College of Environment and Life Science Teaching Award
Roland Duhaime was recognized by the National Park Service for his "dedication and commitment to GIS excellence in support of the National Park Service Field Technical Support Center"

Roland Duhaime was recognized by the URI College of Environment and Life Sciences and received the award for Outreach Educator of the Year.
Dr. Art Gold was named as the Scholarly Excellence Award winner by the University of Rhode Island. This prestigous award recognizes one member of the URI faculty who have contributed significantly to their field.
