Graduate Student Support for Attending Conferences
Presenting papers and posters at scientific conferences is an important activity for graduate students. This engages students with their community of peers, allows students to meet the leading scholars in their field, and provides an opportunity to gather critical review of their research ideas. There are multiple sources of financial support for students to attend meetings.
The William R. Wright Travel Fund supports travel to meetings for graduate students in the Department of Natural Resources Science. Application details are described here.
The URI Graduate Student Association (GSA) provides travel grants to professional meetings and workshops. Click here for more information.
The Graduate Assistants United (GAU) provides travel support to attend meetings for URI Graduate Assistants. See page two of their February 2009 Newsletter for details (click here for a copy).
Graduate students may apply to all these funding sources to cover costs associated with attending professional meetings.
